Opuha Water Ltd (OWL) is a progressive infrastructure and irrigation Co-Operative company based in South Canterbury. We own and operate the Opuha Dam, Power Station and irrigation distribution systems in the South Canterbury region. We have been part of our local community for over 20 years now and have delivered significant environmental and community benefits over this time. We work with a very precious natural resource, fresh water, and as such we take our obligations incredibly seriously around its management. About the role

We need a star Business Services Administrator to join our thriving team, based in Pleasant Point, 10 minutes out of Timaru in South Canterbury. This role is to fill an existing permanent part time role (20-30 hours per week). Reporting to the Business Manager your efficiency, ability to multi-task, and your fanatical, strong attention to detail will seal your success in the smooth running of our office.

With such a strong team element to the role, your personable and friendly nature is essential, and will see you fit right in with our shareholders and our high-energy team. Having worked in a similar environment and industry, so will relate well to our stakeholders and will truly be able to make an impact here. Being a self-starter, you thrive in a role where you can work autonomously; however, you are also big on communication, process, and understand the importance of keeping your stakeholders informed and ‘in the loop’.

More About the Role and What We Are Looking For

Duties will include:

  • Providing focused, high-level customer service and advice, including the updating of databases, client records, answering customer queries, and efficiently resolving problems.
  • Administer the OWL Health & Safety System
  • Keeping the office running efficiently and effectively.
  • Supporting the Finance team with Data Entry when required.
  • Share Trading Administration
  • Assist in administration of website and social media
  • Being able to work autonomously, and as a member of a team, as you will be part of a small team of friendly, hard-working people who fully support your professional development.

What can you bring to the role?

Preferably, a knowledge of agriculture, irrigation, electricity or similar, to fully understand the scope of the role, and customer requirements.

Outstanding computer skills, especially confidence with database navigation, but also with additional knowledge outside of the MS Office Suite, Health and Safety Systems and potentially Xero although some training will be provided.

Strong time management, prioritisation, attention to detail, and organisational skills.

Able to work autonomously, and as part of a team and using initiative with daily tasks and processes.

Adaptability, and a willingness to ‘go the extra mile’ for your team.

Ability to multi-task whilst maintaining a high level of work.

Resilience, empathy, and a proven ability to work under pressure.
